I’m Ambrose Reed, an art director and visual artist based in Los Angeles. I’ve worked on several award-winning short films, and love to create beautiful and charming visual work that communicates clearly and offers a moment of joy in a challenging world.

I was raised in St. Louis, and have been obsessed with art and animation my whole life, earning a BFA in Printmaking from Truman State University in 2014. This liberal arts degree gave me a broad range of tools for visual communication, artistry, and storytelling; as well as a hands-on, process-based approach that serves me to this day. After graduating, I worked as a graphic designer for several years, pivoting during the pandemic to my own creative graphic design and illustration business.

In 2022, I relocated to LA, pivoting toward my long term dream of working in animation as an art director and background designer. And in 2024 I co-founded Emerging Artists Animation to create opportunities for other people transitioning into an animation career. Our first short, Eternalife, was competed in 2025.
